What Should I Do Pre and Post-Treatment?

Patients should avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to injections and avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil, and NSAIDS for two weeks prior to avoid bruising and swelling. After injections, patients should not wear hats, lie down, or exercise for 6 hours. Do not get any facial treatments including laser, microdermabrasion, or massage for 10 days. Patients should animate the face immediately following treatment and for about an hour after being injected.

How Long is the Procedure?

The procedure itself takes just 5 minutes. Typically a half hour is set aside for each patient to allow time for an initial consultation to answer questions or concerns as well as post-care instructions after the procedure. The effects of BOTOX® are not immediate, but most patients will notice a difference in their wrinkles and fine lines in 48 hours, with the full effects showing in a couple of weeks after treatment.* BOTOX® lasts several months but does vary per person.* In order to maintain the appearance BOTOX® Cosmetic provides, repeated injections are necessary.

What Does BOTOX® Treat?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is most commonly used for forehead, glabella (between the brows) and crow’s feet.
